I'm Jamie Whitiora. I started Spark Auckland Electrical in 2024 after six years on the tools across Tāmaki Makaurau — apprenticeship through a big residential outfit, then a stint doing commercial fitouts in the CBD.
Grew up in Manukau, went to Pakuranga College, picked electrical at MIT because my old man's a builder and we always had sparkies on his sites who seemed to enjoy the work.
Did my apprenticeship 2018–2022 across about 80 residential jobs — everything from kitchen upgrades to full rewires on character villas. Then two years on commercial fitouts in the CBD before going out on my own.
